Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia fall below 800 again and deaths drop to 7

RIYADH — Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia fell below the 800-mark on Sunday after remaining near and above 900 in the past few days, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry announced 799 new COVID-19 cases and seven more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 398,435 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,754.

The ministry also reported 548 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 383,321.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 362 followed by the Makkah region with 147 and the Eastern region with 138 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just four of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 8,360 active cases and 915 of them were in critical condition.
